May Production Update!
25 days ago – Fri, May 29, 2026 at 05:45:39 AM

Hello, guys!

Welcome back to a new update on the progress of Nova Aetas Renaissance – Wave 2!

This month, we'd like to start by talking about Play Bologna, the largest board game convention in Italy, where visitors had the opportunity to try one of the most anticipated expansions of Wave 2: Catacombs.

Throughout the event, countless adventurers ventured beneath the cities of Renaissance Italy, exploring procedurally generated dungeons filled with dangers, secrets, and undead horrors. The response was incredibly enthusiastic, and it was fantastic to watch both veteran Nova Aetas players and newcomers discover this completely new side of the game.

As many of you already know, Catacombs introduces one of the most ambitious additions ever made to Nova Aetas Renaissance: a system for generating random dungeons that transforms the game into a true dungeon crawler experience.

The expansion adds new enemies, new tiles, new events, and dedicated rules that allow players to experience a standalone mini-campaign centered around the Catacombs. At the same time, the expansion can be seamlessly integrated into any of the main campaigns, allowing Heroes to interrupt their primary objectives and venture underground in search of treasure, resources, and new challenges.

The feedback we received during the convention was extremely positive, particularly regarding the replayability offered by the random dungeon generation system and the way Catacombs expands the possibilities of every existing campaign.

If you were among the brave explorers who ventured into the Catacombs during Play Bologna, we'd be delighted to hear about your experience. We'd love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to share your impressions in the comments and let the rest of the community know what you discovered beneath the streets of Italy!

About Catacombs, we're also happy to announce that the complete Catacombs Rulebook is now available on our Web App. Starting today, you can download it, explore all the new mechanics, and get a first look at everything waiting for you in this expansion.

As for production, work continues on all fronts. The factory has confirmed that manufacturing is progressing according to plan, and current estimates indicate that production should be completed by the end of July.

As always, we prefer to treat production timelines with a healthy degree of caution, but we are very pleased with the progress made so far, and with the continuous updates we're receiving from the factory.

We'll keep monitoring every stage closely and, as always, we'll continue sharing all significant developments through our monthly updates.

March Production Update
3 months ago – Thu, Mar 19, 2026 at 09:04:14 AM

Hello, everyone!

Welcome back to the world of Nova Aetas Renaissance with a new update on the production of Wave 2!

We apologize for missing the February update. With the Chinese New Year coinciding with a period when factories are largely shut down for the holidays, there was no significant news to share last month.

Now that the break is over, the factory has resumed printing the miniatures and has sent us new pics to share with you, which we’re sharing in this update.

Miniatures production is progressing well, and once it’s complete, we’ll move on to producing the plastic trays for the new expansions and the remaining plastic components, such as the deck builders and the new (spectacular) playmat.

Only once all the plastic components have been fully produced will we move on to the cardboard components, which are currently undergoing all the necessary draft revisions for final optimization.

Speaking of the cardboard components, we’d like to take this opportunity to let you know that the rulebooks for the Vesuviusand Under Siege expansions are now available in all languages on our Web App!

To pass the time, you can check out the many new features we’ve introduced with these expansions right away and get ready for what you’ll find in the Catacombs rules (coming in the next update), which will introduce a brand-new gameplay system to NAR, transforming it into a true Dungeon Crawler!

Enjoy reading, and of course, give us your feedback!

Before wrapping up this quick update, here’s the usual progress report. As you’ll notice, there aren’t any major changes since the last one, but that’s pretty normal at this stage since all the products are in production at the same time. It’s therefore understandable that all the expansions will be finished almost simultaneously.

As for the timeline, the factory expects production to be completed by the end of May, so we’re really almost at the end of this long journey!

That’s all for today! See you next month with a new update! As always, thank you for your support and patience!

January Production Update!
5 months ago – Fri, Jan 30, 2026 at 06:17:40 AM

Hello, guys!
Here are the images coming directly from the factory for the production of Wave 2!

As you can see, the final phase of mass production for NAR has officially begun and is already at a fairly advanced stage.

All the extensive optimization work carried out together with the factory’s technical team has paid off, resulting in miniatures of outstanding quality, both in terms of materials and level of detail. As always, our goal is to ensure the highest quality possible, so that your gaming tables look impressive and allow you and your friends to fully immerse yourselves in the story of the Nova Aetas Chronicles. And for those of you who enjoy painting, there will truly be plenty of fun ahead in the coming months!

As for the printed materials, as shown in our last update, we are continuing to work closely with the factory on the approval of all proofs, in preparation for printing.

We will keep you updated on the progress of production as the various processes move forward. In the meantime, below you can find our updated table showing the current status of all the products included in Wave 2.

That’s all for today!
We’ll see you in about a month with new updates on mass production!

Last Christmas!
6 months ago – Wed, Dec 17, 2025 at 04:19:58 AM

Hello guys!

We're back with the last Christmas update for this project! We're pretty sure that by next Christmas, everyone will have already played wave 2 of Nova Aetas Renaissance!

As we mentioned in the last update, all procedures for the start of mass production have begun, in particular, the checking of drafts and materials, on which the factory has started printing tests.

Notably, we have received a first production copy of the Vesuvius expansion, one of the first expansions to be completed, and we have begun preparing for mass production, together with the factory's graphic designers and technicians.

Here are some photos of this copy to show you the quality of the materials, which is practically the same as the copies you will receive at home in a few months.

After carefully examining this production copy and correcting a few minor details, we can assure you that the quality of Wave 1 will be maintained 100%, and you will also find improvements in the usability of the rules and materials, thanks to the feedback we have collected from players.

We will continue to keep you updated on production as the various processes move forward. In the meantime, we have updated our table with the new status of all the products that make up Wave 2.

That's all for now! We wish you all happy holidays and a happy New Year. See you in 2026!

November Production Update
8 months ago – Thu, Nov 06, 2025 at 08:16:17 AM

Hello Guys!

We are back to update you on the progress of Wave 2 of Nova Aetas Renaissance!

We apologize for the delay in this update, but we preferred to wait until we had significant news to share with you... And finally, the time has come!

Let's start with the translations, which are nearing completion. Only the GER/FRA/ESP translations of the Catacombs expansion remain to be finalized, and we expect to finish them by the end of November.

In the meantime, we have started sending the files to the factory for the preparation of the printing of the graphic material for all the other expansions that make up Wave 2, to optimize time and be ready for the start of mass production scheduled for December.

The molds for the miniatures have been ready for some time, and with the closure of the Wave 2 Pledge Manager at the end of September, everything is ready for printing to begin!

We are thus on the verge of mass production, which, with the molds ready and the graphic files already being optimized, we expect will be much faster than normal, allowing us to ship all the goods immediately after the Chinese New Year, i.e., in February 2026.

We know we have asked for a lot of patience so far, and we understand how difficult it is to wait longer.
But we can assure you that the commitment and care dedicated to Wave 2 surpass even that of Wave 1. We want these products to be the worthy and epic conclusion to your NAR collection.

That's why we're continuing to give you more spoilers! For example, one thing we realized we hadn't told you is that inside Catacomb, in addition to enemy cards from the new undead faction, you'll also find enemy cards from the undead versions of all the enemies from the Core Box!

That's right, every single enemy from the original game can be used in Catacomb in its undead version, with a new card showing its “zombie” illustration and new rules to represent its new, putrid condition.

These cards will greatly increase the replayability and variety of your raids in the Italian catacombs, and each “dungeon” will always be a different challenge.

Here are some of the zombie versions of old enemies created by our illustrator, Giovanni Pirrotta. We hope you like them!

That's all for today. See you in December for the last Christmas update of this project!
